Four glorious days at sea

Just what the doctor ordered; four days at sea to recover from our adventures and lack of sleep so far, as well as the accumulated stress of the past six months.

It hasn't been hard to fall into the new rhythm; the ship is great and oh so conducive to pure enjoyment. The weather has been no less than fantastic; hot and sunny and with fresh sea breezes blowing through, making every inch of the ship a welcome haven whether you're craving the sun or a cool, shaded corner to take a nap. The multitude of decks with loungers and sofas, pools and hot tubs; where every so often you're offered a cool drink, a wet towel or sunscreen, are found both in and out of the sun and are never really crowded. Ready to eat? delicious meals can be had round the clock as even when every dining venue is closed you can get a fabulous meal ordered to your suite or drop by Seabourn Square for a latte and a quick snack.

Food has been consistently very good at the Restaurant and the Colonnade and even the Patio Grill. We've yet to go to Restaurant 2; the menu has just changed for the week and it sounds great so we'll go there for dinner one of these nights.

We had booked a "balcony guarantee", which means that a balcony cabin is the minimum you will get but there are several categories which differ solely based on location. We got lucky and ours is on deck 6 midships which means we're mere steps away from anything and everthing. It's such an easy, small ship to get around that you're never more than a minute or two away from whichever venue you're headed to.

Our sea days are filled with as much or as little as we feel like doing; sometimes sleeping in, sunbathing and then staying up late for some dancing, others getting up at sunrise and going for a workout before breakfast. There are lectures, movies, high tea, and music, shows and lots of dancing. We've also slept a lot :)

Salalah, Oman (also known as "The Land of the Frankincense") is our first port of call since leaving Mumbai and we've signed up for a tour.
